This was a great one to watch - however to truly see the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, you have to watch them do their Four Wind Cross. They do it every year. Computers say it can't be done, they do it anyway.

If you look at the way a baseball is made, it has seams all around. The way the pitcher grips it along the seams along with the wrist/arm action determines how fast it is, what type of pitch it is, and how it breaks.

This csmers view is horrible. No commentary, limited visibility, and you lose all of the atmosphere of the game. Easily the worst way to watch a game.

Sanford stadium is the best. Im biased as hell, though.

I was in a university marching band in my youth. I can't say enough about this performance. Precision marching like this is quite difficult to do which is why few university bands attempt it. Keeping count of your position in the routine all the while playing is quite difficult, and requires alot of practice. New marching drill starting every Monday and new music to memorize. Showtime is in 6 days. Kudos to Texas A&M for keeping the art of precision marching alive.

I can’t believe FIFA or soccer fans think America can’t accommodate a World Cup. Our football college stadiums are better than most professional stadiums world wide.

These bandsmen have 8 years experience playing music and 4-6 years of marching experience when they reach college. High school bands perform at high school football games. Most high school bands are not as large though.

My favorite part of A&M football is the the Aggie band. My favorite part is the band is the bass (aka tuba) that is the instrument that goes over the shoulder. I love when they turn. And sometimes you can hear the student body make noises when they do. I also love the beginning when the drum major is out front and the trumpets are flipping the flags all around. The student body has fun with that. Last note, while A&M is very patriotic and the band is a military bad, this performance was also the Veteran’s Day performance. I think…thanks for covering this!

You know what's funny, as an American, I've watched a ton of older and newer British movies, looked at a ton of British people in old-timey photos, and I've watched a ton of every-day British people on UA-cam, and most of their teeth look pretty normal, same with your teeth. If you want to talk about effed up teeth, most of the British people I've seen have way better teeth than the deep Southern meth heads running around here, that's for sure. I honestly don't get the teeth stereotype, but I am aware of the dental health care history in Britain. But it is true that British people tend to have more uh, pointed, and defined noses than most Americans, which is why I guess they drew the noses the way they did. Also in America, you know you really got it made when you can afford a full set of perfect, gleaming white dental implants, and they are soooo obvious too.

The instrument you wanted to know about is a sousaphone aka the marching tuba. My high school marching band tuba players would dance while wearing their sousaphones. Gosh doing marching band was something else. Also there was a town whose uniforms were split black and white so you'd instantly know if they were out of step but good luck finding someone like that they kicked butt and knew it

I just happed upon this video and I love British reactions to things (ahem, Jolly), but I used to be in marching band in high school, so this caught my eye. THAT WAS CRAZY!! All of those Souzaphones and trombones executing all those precise moves... WHAT?! That was crazy brilliant! Everyone was so talented! I'm beyond impressed.

Years ago I was in a high school marching band in Texas and we did a much simpler version of this and it was fun. Also all of this music is memorized and you have to keep track of your steps. Keeping in a straight line is the easy part.

Your commentary ruined the show. Let the band do their show then say what you please.

Great band, excellent school (and I studied & taught at their arch-rival, The University of Texas!). Band students work incredibly hard all year round, and keep up their grades in order to be able to march. Hats off to all of them.

This makes me miss high school marching band (ours was military marching band as well), and it’s been over 30 years!!

That big brass instrument is a Sousaphone named for the march king, John Philipp Sousa and is a tuba that is easier to carry outdoors when marching. This band is made up of members of the corps of cadets so drill is important and done to perfection (not all members will be soldiers after graduation but are cadets while at school).

You don't get free healthcare, you're losing 2x your income which is on average 2x less than the average American lol. And we did invent all modern music. Every single electronic sound you hear is from America. We invented the guitar, you know the thing the beatles use lol.

The instruments you were referring to are sousaphones, named after American band leader John Philip Sousa. I'm a Baylor alumnus, class of '75, and I got to watch a number of Aggie band performances at Southwest Conference football games.

If you do come here, we do have a castle or 2 in East Tennessee. 1 is less than a mile from where I grew up.

I am enjoying your comments! I received my masters degree from Texas A&M. WHOOP!! Even as a grad student, I learned all the traditions, the words to the songs, how to be in the stands, etc. Note: when the marching band performs, it is required that the students in the stands STAND UPON the bench in front of them out of respect. ( I did my undergrad at the U of Nebraska and I played snare in drumline for the Cornhusker Marching Band from ‘90-‘94).

It would have been a great deal more enjoyable if this narcistic Brit didn't have his face on the screen interrupting the whole time. Another ass making money with clicks from other people work.

I'm from Texas and I lived in College Station, Texas for many years. Throughout 6-12 Grade I was in the band where I played the Coronet. I was also a Baton Twiller. We practiced twice a day.(early morning and late evening) Monday -Thursday to perform on Friday Night Football Games. But students had to maintain a C-Average grade in all subjects. It was a joy to perform for our parents. The Texas A&M Aggie Band is known for its percise techniques and wonderful performances. Thank you for posting this video. It brought back great memories. Also, those big things they carry over their shoulders is a Tuba. :)

Fun fact. They can't be apart of the band if they are failing.

They use the same march technique that is used in the U S Military. We had to march and call response to cadence. Before graduation we had to complete a 10 mile no stop march. 😊

4th of July. The one day of the year America gets to blow up the sky with fireworks to celebrate her birthday. Also the food, commonly its burgers and hotdogs. Maybe a cold Coke or beer. But, I love bbq, no matter what it is. It’s a busy time for any stores selling meat and fireworks.

Regardless of the outcome of the game, the Aggies always win halftime.

"It must go wrong in practice" It goes wrong on the field every so often. But they are really good at correcting mistakes very quickly and sometimes not even noticed unless you watch a replay.

I served in the U.S. Marines from 1999-2007, and we take pride in our marching and drilling, but this is beyond next level impressive! Absolutely outstanding work! This has to take well into the thousands of hours to accomplish. That leaving out the planning, choreography, and time by the staff that made this happen. Well done, from an old Marine!

Sousaphones. Those are the large over the shoulder instruments. The marching version of the tuba.

Every week, the show is different so every week they learn maybe some new music but always a new program. And watch the tubas and base drums make a turn/corner. ;) This is a good video but there are much better ones out there that show how top notch these cadets are. They do this once a year, where all of the cadets merge onto the fieldto honor veterans so that you see the sheer number of cadets that live this uniformed life every day all day just as a military person would.
